The last days of summer and the coming of autumn are upon us and here at the Grand Hotel du Bel Air that puts us in mind of one thing in particular; Paris Design Week. Ushering in the change of the seasons each year, this eight day event has become a keynote occasion on the Parisian events calendar. If you are not aware of what happens at this time, we'd like to give you some idea of what to expect from the 6th to the 18th of September.
Paris Design Week : Design Dynamics
Design has an impact on everyone and everything around us. It is a fundamental aspect of creativity and there’s little wonder that here in Paris, where an estimated 8,000 designers work, it is an aspect wholeheartedly embraced. Paris Design Week throws a spotlight upon both established and new talents and explores the links between design, fashion, décor and arts and crafts.
In venues throughout the capital institutions, galleries, shops, hotels and various other locations become temporary art spaces forming a circuit of design exhibitions and events pulsing with creative energy. Hot new designers receive their time in the spotlight courtesy of ‘Now! Le Off’ and influential and important participants include the Conran Shop, Cassina, the Paris College of Art and the La Galerie Joseph and La Fondation Cartier art galleries. Tied in with the trendsetting Maison & Objet trade show at Paris Nord Villepinte, the happenings during Paris Design Week are essential for anyone with an interest, whether professional or personal, in this fascinating field.
