Music and Art for Every Taste Amidst Beauteous Nature

Publish on Friday, 27 June 2014 dans Entertainment

More than 400 free concerts are scheduled to take place in the green spaces of Paris during the Kiosques en Musique festival, which runs until October 31st. Sit on the grass under a tree and enjoy every kind of music from jazz to classical and from folk to brass band while surrounded by the bounty of Mother Nature. The Norwegian pop of Undheim and Eikeland, Inside Voices and their infectious brand of gospel-soul-funk, an English choir and even the International Sawchestra and their musical saws are just some of the musical delights in store.

Summer Garden at the Musée du Quai Branly runs from July 5th to August 31st. The exquisite gardens of the museum, designed by Gilles Clement, cover 18,000 square metres, even extending beneath the raised portion of the building itself. Here workshops and music events take place against the most relaxing and tranquil of backdrops. The museum’s exhibitions are echoed in this wonderful green space of winding pathways, small hillocks, trees and shrubs. Exhibitions for the summer include Tattooists Tattooed, until October 18th, which examines body art in an anthropological and cultural context. Then from June 24th to September 28th, Tiki Pop explores the American fascination with Polynesian culture and the way it was turned into a pop art phenomenon.

Things To Do In Paris In Summer By The Seine

Should the warmth of a Paris summer become a little too much for you, then why not cool off at the Paris Plages? Since 2002, when the idea was introduced by Mayor Bertrand Delanoe, these stretches of temporary beach by the Seine and the Bassin de la Villette have become ever more popular. Just imagine relaxing in your deckchair on the sand, enjoying an ice cream from a nearby vendor, and then taking a dip in a swimming pool suspended over the Seine. Well, this beach resort bounty, plus all manner of games, sports and entertainment can be yours at Paris Plages.
