Publish on Wednesday, 12 November 2014 dans Events

Paris loves Christmas markets. Around eleven of these take place throughout the city, including the most popular of all, the Champs Elysées Christmas Market. From November 14th until January 4th the world’s most famous avenue becomes even more enchanting than usual as it prepares to welcome some 16 million visitors. Why not discover the wonders of Paris during the festive season by staying at the Grand Hotel du Bel Air? We are close to the Place du Nation, where you can find easy access to all parts of the city.

The enchantment of the Champs Elysées at Christmas

The Christmas markets of France can trace their beginnings to the Alsace region in the 15th century. Today they are a beloved tradition nationwide, and perhaps nowhere more so than in Paris, where several Yuletide markets take place. On the renowned Champs Elysées some 160 wooden chalets open between the roundabout and the Place de la Concorde to offer all manner of wonderful things to festive shoppers. Handicrafts, regional food specialities from all over France, gifts, souvenirs, sweets, artwork, clothing and more! Don’t forget to put something warm inside you with a delicious vin chaud, (a hot mulled wine), and munch on a crepe as you stroll along.

For a wonderful view of the twinkling lights and bustling merriment of the Champs Elysées, and indeed all of the breathtakingly illuminated city, you simply must take a spin on the Big Wheel located in the Place du Concorde. It will be one of the most magical sights you will ever witness. A winter wonderland against the fabulous backdrop of Paris. What more could you ask for this Christmas?

Remember, after the fun-filled family activities and shopping at the Champs Elysées Christmas Market, you can return to warm up and relax in the welcoming atmosphere of the Grand Hotel du Bel Air.
